DJ Khaled ft. Waka Flocka & Ace Hood - Im Thuggin

Posted about 5 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Lex Luger
Album:
We The Best Forever

One thing about DJ Khaled, his presence is unmistakable. That being said, it’s been pretty quiet without him lately. His new single I’m Thuggin’ with Waka Flocka and Ace Hood reminds us what it means to make an entrance. Imitators would be wise to fall back and give Khaled back his spotlight. As he puts it in the intro, this is that “mean mug music” and listening to Lex Luger‘s bass heavy, ominous piano, subtle hi-hat production you instantly start to feel your upper lip curling into a snarl. This is that Riley Freeman throw-a-chair-and-start-a-fight-just-because music! If you’ve got a chip on your shoulder, Waka Flocka Flame’s cocky cadence will only get you worked up and Ace Hood yelling the hook just adds fuel to the fire. DJ Khaled declares “this gon’ f**k the club up!” and he’s probably right. I wouldn’t want to be in the middle of a crowd when this song drops. Tuck and roll, save yourself! This may be one of the last singles we’ll hear off DJ Khaled’s We The Best Forever album, but something tells me he’s not going anywhere. DJBooth will be sure to keep you posted, but until then you’ve got this courage cookie to keep fools in check.
