DJ Nu-Mark ft. illa Jay - By My Side

Broken Sunlight

In the words of the Grateful Dead, what a long, dope road it’s been. Ok, so maybe that’s not exactly how Jerry Garcia and company put it, but that’s what they would have said if they wrote Truckin about DJBooth and Event Electronic’s 20/20 Music series. From Rapper Big Pooh to Thurz and everyone in between, we’ve let loose a lot of stellar hip-hop, and what better way to close things out than with DJ Nu-Mark’s By My Side? (That was a rhetorical question.) Behind the boards Nu-Mark displays some of the classic style that first earned him acclaim alongside Jurassic 5, layering a sparkling, island tinged sample over some steadily paced percussion. Providing the vocal half of the equation is illa Jay, who lays down appropriately mellowed bars that are far deeper than they might first appear on the surface. Looking for all..um…20 of the 20/20 tracks? You’re in luck. The compilation 20/20 Music mixtape hits The DJBooth for free stream and download tomorrow, Wednesday, November 29.  And click here to learn how you can win a pair of Event’s new 20/20 BAS monitors.
