August 2010 may be at an end (damn – that was quick!), but those who haven’t taken full advantage of the summer still have a few more weeks of sunny weather to spend rolling through the streets of their local metropolis – and if you need a fresh late-summer jam to enhance the experience, Dre-Ski‘s got you covered. Making its world premiere right here in the Booth, inaugural mixtape leak We Ride finds the Virginia Beach native (and freestyle series alum) delivering laid-back braggadocio over a head-noddable descending piano loop by increasingly-ubiquitous DMV beatsmith The Madman. Of course, ridin’ isn’t the same without a good friend along – here, fellow up-and-comer Dub rides shotgun, dropping a deeper-voiced middle verse sure to leave a lasting impression: “I’m around more kings than a checker game, you either recognize my face or remember my name.” If you like what you’re hearing, you can look forward to more dope tunes this autumn, when Dre-Ski hooks up with the Booth to drop his new Cloud 8.7 mixtape. In the meantime, keep it locked!
