Dujeous - Throne

Producer:
Taylormade Sounds
Album:
Dusk Til Dawn EP

Formerly regular visitors to our front page, Dujeous have been conspicuously absent from the Booth since bringing us the bummed-out but dope Death & Taxes back in December ‘09. Well, I’m happy to say that the Big Apple crew are alive and kicking (as well as, presumably, up to date on their taxes); in fact, they’re getting ready to drop a brand new EP and album. Leak numero uno off the former, Throne finds Taylormade Sounds channeling a little classic rock, drawing upon the guitar arpeggios and haunting hook vocals of Blind Faith’s Can’t Find Your Way Home as emcees Rheturik, Mojo the Cinematic and Mas D engage in a little mic therapy. Addressing everything from the friction between love and finance (“I’m sensin’ a concern about my billfold…”) to the frustrations of modern “wage-slavery,” the trio’s verses add up to a discontinuous, but emotionally resonant whole. So, is this Throne fit for a king? Those who like what they’re hearing should keep it locked for release details on Dujeous’ Dusk Til Dawn EP, the official prelude to the summer arrival of sophomore set Day in, Day Out.
