Everliven Sound ft. El Da Sensei - Elements

Posted about 6 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
The Beatnikz, w/ cuts by DJ Don Martin
Album:
Freedom 2 LP

Drafted by Russian chemist Dimitri Mendelev in 1869, the Periodic Table of the Elements was a useful guide to the building blocks of matter, but suffered from a tragic lack of hot beats and witty punchlines. Unfortunately, no one has managed to come up with a doper alternative… until now. Elements, the latest single from Booth-approved duo Everliven Sound, may not be able to tell you the number of valence electrons a lead atom has, but it does feature all the essential components of an underground banger. Here a uniquely fresh, piano-driven instrumental by The Beatnikz (complete with cuts by DJ Don Martin) serves as backdrop for the witty-as-ever rhymes of group members Cymarshall Law and Skit Slam, as well as guest bars from Newark vet El Da Sensei. Packed with references to classic hip-hop fads and fashions, this cut should have old-schoolers and younger listeners nodding along. If you’re digging it, you’ll be able to hear more on Everliven’s Freedom 2 LP when it drops on the 22nd. In the meantime, why not take a listen to Booth-presented prelude mixtape Freedom of Speech: The Last Word Benders?
