Something About Faith

The incomparable Faith Evans is back with her fine self. In an age when most R&B has become diluted into the same sensual, poppy garble, Faith has thankfully seemed immune to such artistic dwindling. As smooth and sultry as ever, the acclaimed singer delivers a very promising performance on new single The Way You Move. On The WayFaith glides over a cooled out Chucky Thompson instrumental that sounds like it was designed for Musiq Soulchild’s earlier albums. For her point, Evan’s crisp vocals reminds listeners why she has lasted this long in the music industry: a great voice with the range of a veteran. As if that wasn’t enough, the song also smartly features Snoop Dogg (further emphasizing the beat’s laid back ‘90s feel) who gives a brief, well-paced but ultimately unneeded verse because quite simply, Faith got this. After a thorough speaker testing of this track (headphones, car speakers, and computer speakers) this is sure to be one the best vibe tracks of the summer. Therefore, it’s a must that you cop her new album Something About Faith when it drops September 4.
