Fashawn - Manny Pacquiao

Producer:
Phonix
Album:
Higher Learning 2

Don’t let the title of Fashawn‘s ongoing series fool you; the Cali native’s style of moral education is a little different from what those raised in the church may remember from their Sunday School days. For example, all that “last shall be first,” “turn the other cheek” stuff goes out the window in the first few seconds of this newly-released joint, which finds the freestyle series alumnus paying tribute to master pugilist Manny Pacquaio. Backed by a chopped sample of stadium staple We Are the Champions (courtesy of beatsmith Phonix), the Cali representative comes out swinging. In verses as witty as they are aggressive, the emcee expresses his willingness to pummel anyone who gets in his way: “Lets get one thing crystal clear: I’m a magician, dear / Because I made all my peers disappear.” Has the Boy Meets World phenom scored a knockout punch with this exultant banger? If you think so, stay tuned for future entries in Fash’s series, as well as the latest details on his Higher Learning 2 mixtape, due out “soon.”
