Freddie Gibbs - Freddie Soprano

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
Big Jerm & Sayeez for ID Labs
Album:

Yesterday, I remarked on how strange it was for Freddie Gibbs to release a mixtape single titled One Eighty Seven in which absolutely no homicides are described. Now it all makes sense: the Gary, Indiana repper was saving up his gangsta for the imminent follow-up, Freddie Soprano. Backed by Big Jerm and Sayeez’ clattering co-production, Gibbs delivers hard-nosed bars that should have rival hustlers shaking in their shoes. On the hook, he succinctly sums up his approach to conflict resolution: “N**ga test me, I’ll send some bullets for my reply.” Featuring this street-ready selection, its above-named predecessor and much more, ESGN is slated to drop digitally July 9, at which point it will be available for free streaming and digital purchase in The DJBooth.
