Freeway ft. State Property - 666

Posted 4 years ago
Producer:
Jake One
Album:
The Intermission

To quote a commenter on his last Booth feature, “Philly Freeway is back!” And, as it turns out, the rest of the State Property coalition weren’t far behind. Fresh off dazzling heads in the Booth with Turn It Up, a potential inclusion on his forthcoming mixtape with Bink!, the headliner hooks up with his former partners-in-rhyme on a newly-leaked cut off yet another fresh project. 666 finds frequent collaborator Jake One taking an appropriately diabolical tack on the production tip, layering tension-fraught string stabs and keyboard arpeggios over a grimy rhythm section as the headliner trades aggressive bars with Beanie Sigel, Peedi Peedi, Oschino, and Young Gunz members Young Chris and Neef Buck. With the smorgasboard of bruising rhymes on offer, it’s hard to pick a favorite verse, let alone quote just one choice line—looks like you’ll have to help me out, Booth readers. In any case, if you’re the type to argue about which member of State Property killed it the most thoroughly, I have a feeling you’re going to dig the rest of the street-certified material set for inclusion on Freeway and Jake One’s The Intermission LP, dropping tomorrow, October 25.
