The Freshmen ft. Marty James - Contact

THX

Promo Single

As Michael “Mike Dreams” Hannah recently observed over on RefinedHype.com, the music game is looking more like high school with every passing day. Thus, it was only a matter of time before a group calling themselves The Freshmen hit the scene. Enter emcees A. Wolf and Kristo, and beatsmith THX, whose new promo single, Contact, is a heartwarming tribute to Carl Sagan, the famed astronomer/astrophysicist who penned the massive novel of the same name. OK, OK, not really – in actuality, this upbeat jam finds the trio waxing poetic about the joys of the one-night stand. Mixing a driving piano-bass groove with plenty of spacey electronic flourishes, THX crafts a beat sure to get heads nodding, and Kristo and Wolf come with propulsive flows to match. One Block Radius frontman Marty James rounds out the track’s lineup, showcasing his smooth vocal stylings on the chorus. If they keep releasing records this catchy, these up-and-comers are bound to have one stellar freshman year. Keep it locked to the Booth for further broadcasts from the talented trio.
