Gerald Walker - Recluse

Unreleased

Rappers that gain a good amount of buzz can often find themselves in the middle of an overwhelming outpouring of attention. With Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and other social networks, access to artists is steadily increasing and alone time is vastly decreasing. This is the subject that Gerald Walker explores in his new song Recluse. The RMB Justize produced cut, on par with anything you’d find coming from the Young Money or Grand Hustle camp, was left off Walker’s upcoming DJBooth-hosted project, The Other Half Of Letting Go. The Chicago/Milwaukee raised rapper and vocalist delivers solid and reflective verses, and with references to Malik Yusef and J.D. Salinger, Walker shows more wit than many of his peers with a similar sound in the underground.  The end of the song also features a quality beat switch up that will get many heads bouncing. If this was left off The Other Half Of Letting Go than what actually made the project must be rather excellent.
