In the typically boys-only club of beatsmiths, Los Angeles-based producer Gina Star has set out to make a little noise with her DJBooth debut, single i.W.I.N. (I Want It Now). The Atlantic Records beatmonger, who hails from Dallas, Texas, recruits New England songster and label mate Laza Morgan for the ultra-lively cut, which features a noticeable sample from Queen’s 1989 record, I Want It All. The upbeat vibe of the single easily translates into the Aaron Himelstein-directed music video, myriad of clubby scenes that feature both Star and her reggae crooner companion. i.W.I.N. (I Want It Now) can be found on the female producer’s I Want It Now (Remixes) EP, which was released earlier in the month via iTunes.
