Something to Lose

To paraphrase Howard Beale’s famous speech from Network, Goines is mad as hell, and he’s not gonna take it anymore! What, precisely, is it that’s got the Arkansas native so steamed? As he explains on his latest mixtape leak (a Booth-exclusive world premiere!), the Suga City member’s Fed Up with everything and everyone standing between him and the success he’s been craving for so long. Over K.E.V.‘s street-ready piano loop and head-nodding percussion, the two-time freestyle series alumnus resolves to to fulfill his dreams at any cost, barreling over any and all obstacles in his way. Of course, it’s not all about him; Goines also offers some words of encouragement to others on their grind, advising us to “Keep a level head even if they call you weird just cause you can stand tall and not give in to the fear…” Singer Joe Average rounds out the record, lacing the hook with his decidedly above-average vocal stylings. So, Booth readers, does this ambitious banger leave you motivated and ready to face the day (or evening, as the case may be)? Then you won’t want to miss the rest of the freshness Goines is set to showcase on his Booth-sponsored Something to Lose mixtape, scheduled to hit our front page on June 29.
