Grant Parks ft. Onis, Griffen, Big Homie Doe, Lungz & YP - I’m Always High

Hip Hop The Rebirth (Real MC's - Real Skillz)

Plenty of artists enjoy their weed, but few are as serious about their smoking habits as beatsmith Grant Parks; as he and his ganja-loving cohorts reveal on leak number two off Parks and Vudu Spellz’ collaborative street album, they’ve become so accustomed to a constant inflow of THC that they probably shouldn’t operate heavy machinery while sober. Making its world premiere here in the Booth, this laid-back cut finds the headliner flipping a brass-infused soul sample into a fittingly hazy backdrop for the blunted rhymes of five Windy City hopefuls. After Booth newcomers Onis, Griffen, Big Homie Doe and Lungz each takes his turn on the mic, regular featuree (and freestyle series alum) YP brings the cut to a strong finish with a punchline-packed closing 16 (“Tell Vanna White I need me a fortune / when I hear it’s time to spray that’s when I turn into Orkin.”). Like what you’re hearing? This smokers’ anthem and much more can be found on Grant Parks and Vudu Spellz’ Booth-spsonsored Hip Hop The Rebirth (Real MC’s - Real Skillz) street album, set to hit our mixtape page Feb. 15.
