Greg Grease - Black King Cole

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
Mike Shevy
Album:

As anyone with open eyes is aware, our supposedly “post-racial” society is anything but. No amount of oppression, discrimination and inequity, however, can erase Greg Grease‘s pride in his people and culture. On EP lead single and title track Black King Cole, premiered earlier today via OkayPlayer, the Minneapolis rhymesayer reminds African-American listeners that they’ve still got the blood of royalty flowing through their veins. His uplifting bars come backed by the ethereal, synth-driven boardwork of Mike Shevy. Feeling it? More fresh, thought-provoking jams await on Greg’s forthcoming EP, slated to drop digitally May 26. In the meantime, fans can still cop his last project,  December 2012’s Cornbread, Earl & G for free in The DJBooth.
