Gym Class Heroes ft. Neon Hitch - Ass Back Home

Posted 4 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Benny Blanco [for Kasz Money Pro.]
Album:
The Papercut Chronicles II

Life Goes On, the second single off the Gym Class Heroes forthcoming fifth LP, failed to instantly live up to the success of Platinum-selling lead effort Stereo Hearts, but there’s no need to worry—the hip-pop heavyweights were simply waiting to unleash the big guns on number three. Ass Back Home finds Travie McCoy and co. tackling a popular theme—the conflict between love and the itinerant life of a touring artist—in eminently ear-pleasing style. Instrumentalists Disashi, Eric and Matt collide with a Benny Blanco (for Kasz Money Productions) behind the boards, crafting a pounding, rock-infused arrangement to back McCoy as he addresses the faraway object of his affections, encouraging her to trust in his love but intuiting that their lack of communication may spell stormy seas ahead: “I’d apologize but I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.” UK singer/songwriter Neon Hitch plays the woman in question, pleading with the narrator to get his posterior back home on a memorable chorus. Craving more? Watch for Papercut Chronicles 2, the sequel to the Heroes’ ‘05 sophomore set, to hit stores November 15.
