Hannibal Stax’ Booth debut is Str8 Smashin’—what more is there to say? Well, OK, I’m guessing y’all might want a little background info. Hailing from Brooklyn, N.Y., the underground emcee is a member of acclaimed crew F.A.B.I.D. and a Gang Starr Foundation affiliate. On song release numero uno off his next street album, he showcases the kind of skills you’d expect from a rapper of his pedigree, trumpeting his illness and going off on “R&B n**ga[s]” over veteran beatsmith Marco Polo‘s imperious brass samples. A grimy Northeastern street banger par excellence, Smashin’ is just one of many dope records to be found on forthcoming mixtape The Honorable. Mixed by PF Cuttin and hosted by the one and only DJ Premier, the project has yet to receive a solid drop date; keep it locked for the latest!
