hasHBrown - 1994 (the ARE Remix)

1994: Maxi Single

Last December, we featured hasHBrown’s ode to 90’s hip-hop, specifically the year 1994, when Illmatic, Ready To Die, Do You Want More?!!!??!, and Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik all were released (Seriously, was there a better year for hip-hop!?). Two months removed from its drop, hasH has chosen to reiterate his feelings on the golden year, providing a remix of the record to make sure the youth of today get the message; more bars, less swag. hasHBrown manned the boards on the original version as his producer alter-ego Jett I Masstyr, but for the remix he hands off production duties to the ARE, whose snapping, grimy beat, while very different from the original, still maintains a retro vibe. To grab both the original and the remix, as well as a brand new b-side, download hasH’s five track maxi-single, available via hasHBrown’s bandcamp.
