Honey Cocaine - Runaway Bride

Posted 3 years ago
Thug Love

In 1999 romantic comedy The Runaway Bride, a woman notorious for leaving grooms stranded at the altar (Julia Roberts) eventually overcomes her chronic case of cold feet after falling in love with a newspaper columnist covering her story (Richard Gere). If T.Dot emcee Honey Cocaine, rather than Julia Roberts, had played the title role, it’s safe to say things would have turned out a little differently. On the latest single off her next mixtape, a stark DKevrim beat backs the unsigned up-and-comer as she expresses her singleminded devotion to the game (“Loyal to rap, I’m only loyal to rap.”) and her deep-seated contempt for all things warm and fuzzy (F*ck trustin’ feelings; I trust my glock.”). Like what you’re hearing? You’ll be able to find Cocaine’s Thug Love and many more quality cuts on Honey Cocaine’s Thug Love mixtape, due out digitally March 31.
