Honors English ft. Lupe Fiasco & TL Cross - Flying High

The Honors English Project Chapter 1

As a writer, I must say that Honors English back in high school was a virtual playground for me. With the perfect blend of subject and predicate, an argument could be made and victory assured. But this isn’t about me - rather, it’s all about breezy new single Flying High from DJ Booth newcomer Honors English. Producer Needlz’ supplement of horns and sporadic drum work give Honors enough room to stretch an impressive flow around a smirk inducing chorus from TL Cross, but in my opinion it’s shockingly a Lupe Fiasco verse that brings this song down. Wait, Lupe Fiasco comes half correct on a verse? It happens from time to time, particularly when he gets on his more monotone flow. Still, a somewhat disappointing guest verse shouldn’t overshadow the budding promise that English possesses, and with a three part series in store for listeners via his Honors English Project (Flying High will appear on Chapter 1), here’s hoping for another solid offering from him soon. Hell, this might end up being the only time you want to take Honors English more than once.
