Those with a green thumb or who love spring, might see the title of Ibn Inglor’s latest, Gardens Grow, and expect to hear a bubbly, light cut celebrating the arrival of spring, which introduces blooming flowers and pastel colors. Well, they would be wrong. However, just because the content is more dark and edgy then bunnies and flowers doesn’t mean it’s any less entertaining. Producer PGMW cooks up a haunting beat, save for the incorporation of a seemingly random drumming (random yes, but perfect for the vibe of the song). Atop the interesting production Inglor gives a frenzied performance, rattling off his overcast, coarse bars with an echoing effect in which his voice is given a demonic makeover. The listening experience is only two minutes long, but if it were any longer, you might be possessed by his dark, demonic style. Gardens Grow is not attached to anything larger, but its release serves as a proper reminder that recently-released album GawdsSpeed is currently available for free download here at The DJBooth.
