ILL Brown ft. Waterr - Bar-Baric

Album:
Return Of The Hardcore

Update: We have added the Red August-directed visuals for ILL Brown’s Bar-Baric single.

At the risk of raining on ILL Brown‘s parade, I’ve got to point out that the Chicago emcee/producer ain’t the first artist in Booth history to evoke Conan and his ilk while discussing his mic skills. That honor goes to Sean Price, who declared himself a Bar-Barian on a cut off 2012’s Mic Tyson LP. But don’t get it twisted; the pun at the center of Bar-Baric is the only thing about this single that isn’t utterly fresh. Here, the Tomahawk Gang signee links up with fellow Windy City representative Waterr to flaunt their lyrical prowess and mercilessly taunt the competition (“Oh, you do a lil’ rappin’ / Where your bars at?”). Maja 7th works his magic behind the boards, turning in a soulful beat that contrasts nicely with the collaborators’ grimy flows. Fans can find Bar-Barian and much more on the headliner’s Return of the Hardcore, released today to online retailers.
