The Wizard of Iz Mixtape [w/ Nick Catchdubs]

Ever since we featured They’re Everywhere last February, Izza Kizza has been a bone of contention among Booth regulars, consistently earning both one and five-star reviews on the same record.  As an emcee who takes pride in his left-of-center style, the Valdosta native knows he can’t please everyone, but there’s also something to be said for universal appeal; thus, Kizza’s latest feature finds him teaming up with a Southern heavyweight, asking heads from the East to the West to Throw It Up as he discusses his hustle, his paper, and his classic street status.  David Banner‘s raspy guest verse is a big draw here, and Kizza’s rapid-fire, robotic rhymes near the end of the cut are a highlight.  On the production tip, frequent collaborator Koolade (see Back to Miami and Millionaire) contributes a spaced-out blend of synths and staccato piano chords. Will this record, set for inclusion on Kizza’s The Wizard of Iz mixtape (due out in March), be the one to bring Booth reviewers together?  You be the jury.
