Back in the day, when you wanted to show a significant other how much you cared about them (or if you were simply too broke to buy them something), the best thing to do was to create a homemade mixtape.  Clearly, nobody knows more about this fine art than singer/songwriter J. Roman, whose brand new single, Slow Jam Mixtape, is dedicated both to the crafting of this creative gift and to the special someone receiving it.  Currently a midday show host for Chicago’s well-known and highly-respected rhythmic station, WBBM B96, Roman name-drops mixtape inclusions like Tony Rich, Babyface, Mario and Brian McKnight over a poppy, synthesized bassline from producer Rob Williams.  Along for the ride are P3 and Willy Wheat of Colorblind, whose front and back-end features will remind listeners of old-school Bone Thugs.
