J.D. of Duality ft. K. Sparks - True Dat

Posted about 7 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Big Drew
Album:
The Red & Blue Pill Mixtape

Featured back in late May, Manic Monday #39 saw reader favorite K. Sparks joining forces with J.D. of Duality to serve heads across the ‘net a heaping helping of Soul Food.  Now, the Booth-acclaimed collaborators have rejoined forces to cook up an insightful jam that’ll have our regulars saying, “True Dat!” On the newly-leaked mixtape cut (J.D.‘s first feature as a headliner), the Hollis, NY native and his Queens-based cohort flow around the concept of being true to oneself, delivering introspective verses liberally laced with expressionistic wordplay (“My worst enemy’s my inner-me”).  Complete with an atmospherically catchy reversed-guitar (I think?) beat by Rap Saviors producer Big Drew and a rapped hook inspired by a line from Sparks’ verse on Young Son collabo Life (It’s Like This), this reflective, thought-provoking jam has all the makings of a Booth hit.  J.D.‘s forthcoming street album has yet to receive a solid release date, but fans can rest assured that we in the Booth will bring you all the latest news and tunes.
