Lucky Me

First, the bad news: despite what the title may suggest, Jabee‘s latest mixtape leak is not intended as a how-to manual. Do not, I repeat, do not jump off your roof while listening to How to Fly, unless you’re a fan of broken limbs and hefty medical bills. With that little PSA out of the way, the latest offering from the Oklahoma buzzmaker is very likely to elevate your mindstate. Here, DJ Semaj‘s high-spirited string samples set the stage for some reflections on the pursuit of stardom. Though Jabee tackles similar subject matter as on his last feature, the reader-approved Imagination, he keeps his motivational rhymes fresh with a healthy dose of dryly braggadocious wit: “These people want me to fail, claimin’ they got my back when I really can’t tell / Well, I’ll build a bridge and get over it, I went from never leavin’ home to flyin’ over it..” The clever Teach Me How to Dougie send-up on the back is just icing on the cake. If you’re craving more fresh tunes, you’ll find what you seek December 8, when the rapper’s IM KING DJBooth.net-sponsored Lucky Me mixtape hits the Booth for the low price of free. Lucky you!
