Just as sharks congregate at the barest scent of blood in the water, haters have an uncanny knack for sniffing out up-and-coming talent. As such, it’s no surprise that Jabee‘s attracted a few non-constructive critics. Regardless, the Oklahoma City native remains unfazed, as evidenced by this newly-released remix. This revamp of Go and Tell ‘Em (a track originally found on the emcee’s Must Be Nice mixtape) finds Jabee joining forces with two fellow Booth-approved up-and-comers to let the naysayers know just how little their opinions are worth. First to flow over the gritty bass/percussion boardwork of Hannibal King (his collaborator on Life’s Too Short), K. Sparks delivers some of his most aggressive bars in recent memory, and Motown motormouth Phil Nash follows him up with a a braggadocio-packed middle verse. The headliner gets his chance to shine on the back end, lacing the track with pop-referential punchlines: “Getting booed offstage like OJ Da Juiceman/ I kill and get away like I’m O.J., the Juice, man.” Those who like what they’re hearing can find this hater-baiting cut and much more on Jabee and Hannibal King’s Taste Like Candy EP, set to hit the ‘net for free download “soon.”
