Jay Rock ft. Trae & 50 Cent - Still in the Hood

Posted 5 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Dem Joints
Album:
TBD

This just in: West Coast mainstay Jay Rock, formerly a staunch representative of the streets, has left the big-city hustle and bustle behind to start a new life as a small-town farmer. OK, OK, that was a lie – and I should probably lay off the Green Acres reruns. Though the freestyle series alumnus has left Warner Bros. for Tech N9ne‘s Strange Music label, fans can rest assured that he’s Still in the Hood, hustling as hard as ever. On this hard-nosed banger, a synth-sizzling instrumental by Dem Joints (centered around a sample from 50 Cent‘s Fully Loaded Clip) backs Rock as he emphasizes that he is, was and forever shall be gutter as f**k. On the back, Lone Star State representative Trae tha Truth steps up to the mic to raspily pay tribute to his own home streets, describing himself as “The only one real enough to bring the ‘hood to wherever.” Like what you’re hearing? Then keep it locked: while this cut has yet to be attached to any forthcoming project, we in the Booth will be sure to let you know when and if that changes.
