Jaymes Young - Dark Star

Producer:
Jaymes Young
Album:

Last summer, we shined the Booth spotlight on Brooklyn beatsmith SmartChild‘s Jez Dior-assisted remix of Dark Star, a single off Jaymes Young‘s latest full-length. Now, we’re proud to bring you the original version of the cut, accompanied by an unknown director’s mesmerizing official visuals. Unsurprisingly, this version of the joint is considerably stripped down from the previously-featured incarnation. The Los Angeles singer/songwriter and beatsmith handles both production and mic duties, crooning his cryptic, yet heartfelt bars over a self-produced mix of keyboard chords, guitar loops and dubstep-tinged bass wobbles. Are you feeling the haunting album version of this Booth-acclaimed jam? If so, you’ll undoubtedly find more to like on the artist’s LP of the same name, available in stores and online as of last May.
