Saheed, Ghostwridah, ¡MAYDAY!, Miami Beat Wave, ArtOfficial... yep, there’s no doubt about it: there’s a hip-hop Renaissance brewing in the Panhandle State’s largest metropolis. The latest member of this mounting wave of fresh, young talent to wash up on our front page, up-and-coming emcee Jiggs expresses his unwavering dedication to the game on Now You Know, a newly-leaked cut off his forthcoming street album. Over the soulful, string-laced sample work of producer Tim Royce, the artist drops bars dedicated to his first love, discussing hip-hop as he would a special lady: “Dear Lord, I thank you for the angel that you sent to me, sitting right up on my shoulderblade… I can’t see her, can’t hear her, but she get me through my struggles and I know I really need her.” The concept may be as old as rap itself, but Jiggs pays tribute to the music he loves with passion and sincerity – not to mention a vocal delivery more expressive than most. Now that you’ve been properly introduced to this Magic City hopeful, are you feeling a craving for more fresh tunes? If so, keep your browsers locked for the latest on Jiggs’ HighGrade LP, scheduled for release “soon.”
