Mood Muzik 4 Mixtape

In a game full of narcissists, no one likes to talk about himself more than Joe Budden (ok, expect for Diddy). Lucky for us, New Jersey’s most suicidal rapper also happens to be one of the best lyricists alive. Come on, how many other emcees would you listen to an eight minute track like Short Summer from? Produced by Beewirks, whose decision to rock out at the end of the track is responsible for a large chunk of the track’s substantial running length, and featuring a hook from Emanny, true to form Joe packs Short Summer with rewind worthy lines, including a biting Brandy car crash reference, and some of the best NBA-related bars I’ve ever heard: in addition to Chris Duhon and Ray Felton name drops, we get gems like “Lebron was king until the pressure got him weighed (Wade).” Goddamn. That’s all, just damn. Short Summer is the first leak from Budden’s hotly anticipated and currently unscheduled Mood Muzik 4 mixtape, which given Joe’s unpredictable history will drop sometime between tomorrow and never.
