Joey Fatts - Tookie

Posted 2 years ago
Producer:
ID Labs

A co-founder of the West Side Crips, Stanley “Tookie” Williams was controversially executed in 2005 for his alleged role in a 1979 quadruple murder. Gone he may be, but he hasn’t been forgotten, as evidenced by the latest feature from Joey Fatts. On this newly-released promo cut, the Long Beach native holds Williams up as a role model, and proudly showcases his Crip colors (“Blue laces in my tennis.”). To back his lyrical homage, Fatts grabs the ID Labs instrumental that originally accompanied Wiz Khalifa‘s April loosie, James Bong. Tookie isn’t attached to anything larger, but Joey has a new project, Ill Street Blues, in the works. As always, we in the Booth will keep you supplied with the latest news and tunes.
