Johnny Polygon - Vacation Suicide

Closer & Muta Beatz

Since Johnny Polygon stepped into The DJBooth with my sh*t in March 2012, we haven’t featured any new sh*t from the Tulsa native. Today, he finally makes his return to our pages with new single Vacation Suicide. While those are two nouns I never expected to hear in the same sentence, the title actually fits Polygon’s lyrics, which depict him using alcohol, pills and anonymous sex to keep his inner demons at bay as he jet-sets around the country on tour. Gloomy? Just a touch. But J.P. keeps the tone humorously self-deprecating, lacing Closer & Muta Beatz’ atmospheric sample work with plenty of his trademark deadpan wit. The Nothing LP, Polygon’s first full project in more than two years, is scheduled for independent release February 20.
