Jon Hope - Still Breathin’

The Waterfire

I love road trips. Let me edit that: I love road trips when I have some good music in my stereo - nothing irks me more than having to listen to Pretty Boy Swag 18 times on the radio in 30 minutes. Thankfully, I received a slew of fresh tracks for my ride this weekend, one being Jon Hope’s new world premiere on the Booth, Still Breathin’. (Some were starting to wonder if Jon was still breathing since the last time we heard from him was May’s Which One.) The freestyle alum uses this single to give listeners hope (pun!) in a world where the little things sometimes feel like a crushing burden. His solution? Simply give thanks that you’re inhaling and exhaling. Backed by a light and catchy production from Taktix, Hope shows that he’s not to be slept on with an immediately appealing style and bars that show nothing but confidence. If you enjoyed this breath of fresh air (another pun!), be sure to check out his latest project, The Waterfire, dropping in October via your boys at DJBooth.net.
