JSWISS ft. Topiq - Rock Steady

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
Topiq
Album:

In addition to naming the genre of Jamaican music that spawned ska and reggae, the term “Rock Steady” can be used to denote reliability and steadfastness. In the case of JSWISS’ latest release, the lead single off his next studio album, the emphasis is squarely on the latter definition. Over a funky sample from Aretha Franklin’s 1971 single of the same title (as flipped by Topiq), the First in Flight State emcee showcases the witty lyricism and hype delivery that have earned him consistently excellent reviews from our readership. Topiq steps out from behind the boards to deliver a high-energy middle verse, and Ford Garrard assists on electric bass. Feeling it? Then watch our pages for more fresh song releases leading up to the May 14, arrival of SWISS’ Awthenticity LP.
