K-Hill - The Geechi’s Over

Achilles' Hill EP

From scholars and pundits to fellow entertainers (including some of the game’s most prominent emcees), commentators have never been shy about calling out hip-hop artists they believe are bringing black culture down. Nine times out of ten, the targets of their ire just so happen to hail from below the Mason-Dixon Line. Sick of seeing his region scapegoated for societal ills (when it’s not being totally ignored), K-Hill stands up for the South on newly-released single The Geechi’s Over. Over Darren Paul‘s pensive keyboard loops, the First in Flight State rhymesayer reminds critics that the issues facing his people are much bigger than Gucci Mane and 2 Chainz, and draws attention to the dope, intellectually stimulating music being created by many of his Southern colleagues. Fans can find this thought-provoking cut and many more fresh tunes on the artist’s Achilles’ Hill EP, out now online. Watch for the full-length album of the same name to drop this summer.
