Kalil Johnson ft. Top $ Raz - Dropkick

Posted about 3 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Mitch Hennessey
Album:
None (Promo Single)

Update: “Dropkick” is no longer available for stream

Like most talented rhymesayers, Kalil Johnson is constantly beset by sucker MCs and other “weak motherf**kers” looking for a leg up. Rarely, however, does the same lame bother him twice; after experiencing the Newark newcomer’s patented method of crowd control, a Dropkick to the face, they tend to become a whole lot less needy. Mitch Hennessey mans the boards on this fractious promo single, flipping a catchy piano sample as the emcee puts his peers in their place. Top $ Raz, the Queens repper who brought us You Love It, contributes a similarly brash, aggressive guest verse. Feeling it? While Dropkick is not attached to a larger project, those feeling it can cop Johnson’s last street album, Kingdom, for free via Bandcamp.
