Katy Perry ft. Pitbull - Dark Horse (Remix)

Posted 2 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Dr. Luke
Album:
None (Promo Single)

Between Pharrell’s hat choice debacle and the whole Best Rap Album travesty (not to mention Kendrick and Imagine Dragons’ epic performance) you might have missed a few things at the 56th annual Grammy Awards; after all there were roughly one million performances (and commercial breaks). One performance which, despite it’s unique qualities, seems to have already been forgotten is Katy Perry‘s nightmare Dark Horse. No, the song itself isn’t nightmarish, but the vibe certainly is. Dr. Luke cooks up a spooky beat consisting of a shrouded framework, few vocal cops, a dripping synth, that together sound like they come from a haunted trap house. On the song’s official remix, Perry’s signature pop vocals are complimented by an energetic 16 from Pitbull (replacing Juicy J) giving the radio ready effort some definite club appeal. The original, featured back in September, can be found on Katy’s current album, Prism.
