Oft imitated but never equaled, the DJBooth Freestyle Series ran from February 2009 through June 2011. Its 250 total entries were the work of a veritable who’s-who of underground and emerging emcees, including rising stars like Kendrick Lamar, Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller. Now, it’s back for a second round.

The 28th entry in the relaunched series comes courtesy of Kev Decor, the East Coast rapper and producer who earned reader acclaim for this spring’s BANG. On Swamp Ass, the unsigned artist delivers raw, aggressive bars over a self-produced beat that features audio snippets from past interviews by our very own DJ Z. Fred Lozano provides original artwork to accompany the freestyle.

The next item on Kev Decor’s agenda is to release the official visuals for BANG. After that, he will shift focus to his forthcoming, unscheduled Dolla Signs LP, the lead single off which will be titled “4$ (The Basics)
