Killer Mike ft. Emily Panic - Anywhere But Here

Who said Grand Hustle ain’t got that mass appeal? On the heels of B.o.B’s Strange Clouds comes Killer Mike, who’s taken a more emotional route on stand-out cut Anywhere But Here, off his brand new album, R.A.P. Music. The former Purple Ribbon member showcases a rhyme style that’s seemingly un-like Mike but the lyrics still penetrate heavy. While getting the “white girl” on the hook may be the cliche move for a hot drop these days, Emily Panic‘s esoteric harmonics over El-P‘s bass and synth-ridden production only emphasizes Mike’s take on R.A.P. Music as the beat embellishes the idea of a cowboy brawl about to go down on city streets. With the previous release of the single Big Beast that stemmed straight out the dungeons of rap, Anywhere But Here brings you up to another level of the house that Killer Mike built. Check for the release tomorrow, April 15, as R.A.P. Music marks the emcee’s sixth career album.
