Killer Mike ft. Ice Cube - Pressure

Posted 8 years ago
Featuring:
Producer:
Tha Bizness
Album:
Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II

It sure is an exciting time to be a hip-hop fan. With all of the racially-charged, controversial albums dropping this summer (e.g. Nas’s Untitled and AZ’s N4L), you can’t help but notice a growing trend of “neo-blacktivism” in popular rap. In the stale world of bottle-popping and booty-shaking that we have grown so accustomed to, these thought-provoking lyricists are speaking their minds not a second too late. Killer Mike is the latest emcee to tackle the racial divide, with the release of his fifth album, I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II. Pressure, his current single, starts off with a Malcom X clip and never looks back. Tha Bizness contributes a hard-hitting beat while Ice Cube shouts his anger away on a guest verse. All in all, it’s not the next big radio hit, but they’re saying what needs to be said, and that’s all that matters.
