Killer Mike - Reagan

Posted 3 years ago
Producer:
El-P
Album:

By materially supporting the Nicaraguan Contras, who contributed to the crack epidemic by shipping large quantities of cocaine into the country, and funneling domestic drug arrests into for-profit prisons, the Reagan administration started a cold war against the poor and minorities that continues to tear apart communities to this day. As far as Killer Mike is concerned, however, those shadowy activities were simply a natural outgrowth system of exploitation deeply rooted in our economic system. On a new single off his recent, El-P-produced album, the ATL veteran connects the dots, explicating his radical theories over his production partner’s grimy synth instrumental. A bloody, animated video drives the point home. For more dope music and provocative political commentary, check out R.A.P. Music, available in stores and online via Williams Street.
