With a Soundcloud song description that reads, “The truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth,” Cleveland rapper King Chip immediately gives listeners a heads up on the excessive truthfulness that is on display on his latest record, the fittingly titled The Truth. While the Midwest native has always been known for his candidness he seems to go above and beyond on Truth, dropping knowledge about Adolf Hitler, The Fluoride Conspiracy and the grittiness of his hometown of Cleveland. Production duo Big Duke & Rami keep their work behind the boards on The Truth relatively simple as they add a drum roll here and there and a vocal sample from Laurence Fishburne’s character in the original The Matrix. Although it has yet to be confirmed, The Truth may be featured on King Chip’s forthcoming debut album Charles Worth.
