KingPen Slim - The Win

Posted about 6 years ago
Producer:
Mark Henry
Album:
The Beam Up 2

After hearing the DMV buzzmaker kill it on 21 Gun Salute, The Way You Move and My Life Is a Movie, you probably have a good idea what KingPen Slim‘s all about, and why you need to cop his new, Booth-sponsored mixtape the moment it drops on Tuesday. Thus, those already on the bandwagon can think of The Win as a slightly premature, but well-earned victory lap. Backed by the bombastic brass and stadium-ready chanting of Mark Henry (who contributed a similarly triumphant beat to Winner’s Circle‘s latest offering, also featured today), Slim demonstrates just how confident he is in his mic-rocking abilities, cutting sucker emcees down to the size with the help of a few sports-related metaphors: “I am unguardable / Think you got my moves down? I’ma run an audible / Every single move I ever make is applaudable / get the f*ck on the sideline’s what you oughtta do.” Does KingPen Slim have this one in the bag? You tell me, Booth readers – or, play it safe and withhold judgment till tomorrow, when The Beam Up 2 arrives on our mixtape page for free streaming and download.
