Knowledge Medina ft. Co$$ - Can You Let Me Be

Featuring:
Producer:
Numonics
Album:
Never Enough EP

Having garnered, respectively, 4.4 and 4.0-star average ratings for Dead or Alive and You Don’t Really Care, Knowledge Medina only needs one more reader-acclaimed record to achieve a hat trick in the Booth. Can he pull it off? Well… yeah, I’m pretty sure he can. The last of three world premieres off his forthcoming street album with West Coast beatsmith Numonics, Can You Let Me Be finds the South Florida representative copping to his fatal attraction to the street life. Over Numonics’ moody rock grooves (featuring live acoustic/electric guitar and bass by the beatsmith himself), the headliner explains that, though he’s fully aware that he could end up a statistic, he can never quite forget the rush that comes with pulling a trigger: “The temptations, they never leave / Yo, the nine—it felt lovely when I let it squeeze.” South Central repper Co$$ guests on the front, acknowledging chaos’ seductive pull but exhorting listeners, “Don’t be brave when they dumpin’ rounds.” So, are Medina and Numonics three for three? If you think so, be sure to tune into The DJBooth Feb. 7, when their Never Enough EP hits our front page for free streaming and download.
