Lafayette Stokely - So Simple

Life's Journey

Lafayette Stokely’s newest song feature is So Simple, but not in a bad way. The South Carolina by way of N.Y rhymer doesn’t need any gimmicks or bells and whistles to make a dynamite song, just give him great production and it is on.  Take So Simple, a standout selection from his Life’s Journey EP, as an example. Rob Yung mans the boards, concocting a smooth, understated beat, over which Stokely gives us a look into his life and his journey from “Brooklyn Immigrant” to budding hip-hop artist. While you can get to know Laf via his colorful, introspective bars, the visuals for the record let you get up close and personal with the emcee, with shots of Lafayette’s hometown and the emcee’s daily routine (munching on a bowl of Fruit Loops and taking a stroll with his girl). Life’s Journey EP is available for free download now.
