Since it’s been a lengthy three years since Irish songstress Laura Izibor was last featured on our pages, I believe a brief reintroduction is in order. The 25-year-old, Dublin singer was first featured on The DJBooth thanks to From My Heart To Yours, a cut from her debut album Let The Truth Be Told. Fast-forward several years later and Izibor is back with He’ll Never Know, which serves as a sample of what we can expect from her upcoming EP The Brooklyn Sessions Vol. 1. Izibor kicks off He’ll Never Know a capella style and while quite a few singers need a strong beat to accentuate their vocals, it’s clear that this singer needs no backing whatsoever. The folk music meets the tropics-inspired beat kicks in after about 20 seconds and comes courtesy of a production trio that consist of Izibor, Jesse Fischer and Solomon Dorsey. The Brooklyn Sessions Vol. 1 will be released August 7.
