Leedz Edutainment ft. Stalley & Apollo The Great - Stay Charged

The Write Off Vol. 3

An indie label based out of Boston, Leedz Edutainment are getting ready to showcase their impressive stable on a brand new, DJBooth-hosted compilation album. Making its world premiere right here in The DJBooth, inaugural leak Stay Charged is exactly what you’d expect from the imprint’s name: an eminently listenable cut that packs food for thought to match its head-nodding appeal. A funky, brass-accented chopped-sample beat by Falside sets the mood, banging in the back as Massilon, Ohio rhymesayer Stalley and Camden, N.J. representer Apollo the Great rock the mic, mixing sagacious pearls of wisdom (“Teach the babies, they go crazy with no guidance / Every time you talk with ‘em, make sure you speak righteous.”) with vivid, intricately-rhymed lyrical poetry (“Plastic surgery, much urgency / When the knife cuts the paper, the music bleeds burgundy.”). Has this erudite banger left you craving more edutaining jams? Then keep your browsers locked for further freshness leading up to the arrival of The Write Off Vol. 3 on Monday, December 19.
