Almost Varsity

Rappers enter the music game for all manner of reasons – some want money, others fame, others attention from the opposite sex, etc. – but only a select few can truly say they’ve received The Calling. On this newly-leaked track, first-time featuree Logics (aka Young Ghangas) gives his soon-to-be fans in the Booth some insight into what makes him tick, explaining that it’s not the cash that keeps him on his grind (though the cash is nice), but also his unstoppable drive to climb ever higher – to quote Second Family emcee/singer Element‘s guest hook, “This sh*t is in my blood, baby I can’t fake it / Hustle on my mind and I can’t shake it.” Recent Booth favorite Freeway backs Logics up on the middle verse, giving his own thoughts on the artistic hustle and emphasizing his will to succeed over producer Tydus’ street-ready mix of organ chords and laid-back percussion. So, readers, does this Booth newcomer have what it takes to make it to the big leagues? If you’re leaning towards the affirmative, you can hear plenty more on his forthcoming ALmost Varsity LP, scheduled to drop March 23.
