Madcon - Beggin’

So Dark the Con of Man

Like Adam Tensta and Henok Achido, hip-hop duo Madcon comes from Scandanavia (while Tensta and Achido come from Sweden, Madcon hails from Norway).  However, the duo’s story can be better compared to that of the king of New Zealand hip-hop, Savage: already heavyweights in their native country, they recently got snagged by Universal Republic for a worldwide re-release of their 2007 sophomore album, So Dark the Con of Man.  Also like Savage, Madcon’s first single under UR had already hit #1 in their native country as well as France (and made the Top 10 in five other European nations).  That single was a cover version of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons’ 1967 hit, Beggin’, with production by 3Elementz, who maintains the classic rock-n-roll sound of the original.  Now that Beggin’ has arrived stateside, there’s no question that Madcon will open the ears of countless potential fans. If they feel a remix is necessary, however, we can only hope they don’t give Soulja Boy the guest verse.
